In partnership with our health colleagues, we are opening an innovative residential home for children with complex mental health needs that also offers outreach services to support relationship building prior to living in the home and support permanency once moving on from the home.
We are looking for resilient, compassionate, and driven people to join our team as Residential Care Workers, supporting the most vulnerable children with complex needs, who may have mental health diagnoses and display high levels of self-harming behaviour, as well as experiencing adverse childhood experiences and trauma.
The home will consist of a registered Homes Manager, two deputy managers, a team of senior residential staff, residential care workers, wake night staff, and health staff.
The home will offer outreach work to children in distress and struggling with their emotions, to support relationship building prior to potentially moving to the home. The home is a 4-bed short to medium-term residence registered under the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
The post is a 37-hour permanent contract, with hours covering a 24/7 service. We seek staff willing to work on a rota including weekends, bank holidays, and unsociable hours. A competitive enhancement will be added to your hourly rate for weekend work and working past 7 pm on weekdays.
The home will be subject to at least one full OFSTED inspection annually.
Essential criteria marked in the person specification are required for this role.
The ability to communicate effectively with people within the home, external professionals, and to provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential.
DBS clearance is required.
