Over the next few years, the Council plans to expand this quality service to open new homes. Our Children and Families work in a trauma-informed way using our innovative multi-agency partnership model ‘Our Way of Working’.

You will also have access to a range of benefits including:

  • Annual Leave - You will receive days of annual leave pro-rata per annum, increasing to days after five years of continuous Local Government Service.

  • Working rewards - schemes include additional Annual Leave, car and cycle purchase schemes, WorkFit Membership, home and electronics purchase schemes, and discounts at high street and online retailers.
  • Pension Scheme - Our Local Government Pension Scheme is a career average pension scheme with employee contributions of between X% and Y%, and employer contributions of Z%. The scheme includes ill health and death in service benefits (after two years of membership).
  • Employee Assistance Programme - 24/7 lifestyle support for personal and work issues from qualified advisors.

As a Trainee Residential Childcare Worker, you will work towards your Level Diploma in Residential Childcare and gain experience supporting vulnerable children and young people. We will provide training and support to develop your skills through various courses and resources. You should be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to collaborative work.

You will additionally:

  • Receive high-quality supervision with a personal development plan to support your career and learning goals.
