Job summary

Greenleaf House in Hawick, Scotland seeks a experienced Residential Care Manager to oversee a team of childcare practitioners and drive high standards of care. You will lead practice, monitor performance, manage budgets, and build strong relationships with statutory bodies while promoting trauma-informed, compassionate care for young people.

The role requires leadership, safeguarding expertise, and a track record of supervising teams within residential settings, with flexibility for on-call

Qualifications

• Experience in a residential children’s home in a management or supervisory capacity.
• Eligible for SSSC registration and PVG for work with children and adults.
• Full UK manual driving licence; eligible for car insurance.
• Qualifications in social care or related subject.
• Excellent communication, IT, and teamwork skills.
• Understand safeguarding and child protection.

Responsibilities

• Develop Senior Practitioners to reach their full potential.
• Monitor and review Senior Practitioners’ performance.
• Oversee the implementation of Operations, Health and Safety policies.
• Support staff in developing mindful relationships with key stakeholders.
• Suggest improvements for development of facilities and process efficiency.
• Manage home budgets monthly and ensure appropriate spending.
