Job summary

The Greenleaf Team in Auchterarder, Perth and Kinross, is seeking an experienced residential childcare practitioner to join a dedicated team supporting young people up to 21 in a therapeutic, trauma-informed setting.

Role involves 14-hour shifts with a 10-hour sleepover on a 2 day on / 3 day off pattern; full UK driving license required; you will contribute to safeguarding, plan and review meetings, and deliver care in a safe, supportive environment with generous benefits and progression

Qualifications

• Experience in a residential children’s home or equivalent.
• Eligible for SSSC registration and PVG membership.
• Full UK manual driving licence (driving a company vehicle).
• Able to work shifts including evenings, sleepovers and weekends.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Understand safeguarding and child protection.
• Willingness to undertake SVQ 3 and HNC training or related subjects.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to children and young people in accordance with policies and procedures; work in a team.
• Contribute to assessment and delivery of support programmes.
• Attend planning and review meetings; participate in key person system.
• Ensure quality recording of information and maintain health and safety checks.
• Work within a shift system including sleepovers and weekends.
• Participate in ongoing training and personal development.
• Implement de-escalation and crisis intervention when needed.
• Promote participation, structure, boundaries and routine.
