Job summary

Compass Community is seeking a responsible Residential Support Worker to help children experience childhood, build self-esteem and support their journey into adulthood.

The role offers a training pathway including two weeks of classroom induction and a 12‑month plan to achieve the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, with supervision and development throughout. A valid driving licence is required, and previous experience is welcome but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential care is desirable but not required.
• Induction includes two weeks of classroom training and a week of shadow shifts.
• Opportunity to achieve Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate children’s activities and appointments, supporting health and wellbeing.
• Meet a variety of children and young people, providing appropriate supervision.
• Support the wider team with domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping.
• Create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.
