Avon Search is recruiting for a Registered Home Manager for a 20-bed residential care home in Ringwood. You will lead the home, ensure high standards of care, and manage day-to-day operations in a supportive environment.

The role requires a strong background in CQC compliance, team leadership and a proactive approach to quality improvement, ensuring residents receive excellent care and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a residential care home for older people.
• Strong understanding of CQC requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary care teams.
• Experience with audits and quality improvement.
• Knowledge of person-centred care and safeguarding.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisation skills.
• Ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
• Commercial and operational understanding of running a care home.
• Caring, proactive approach.
• Ability to build relationships with residents, relatives and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for day-to-day operation and management.
• Provide strong, visible leadership to the care team.
• Ensure high-quality, person-centred care aligned to residents’ needs.
• Maintain compliance with CQC regulations and policies.
• Lead quality assurance, audits and improvements.
• Monitor care plans, risk assessments and medication processes.
• Ensure safeguarding, dignity, safety and wellbeing.
• Recruit, supervise, develop staff and manage performance.
• Manage occupancy, referrals and admissions.
• Support budget management and resource use.
• Respond to feedback, complaints and concerns.
• Prepare for inspections and maintain readiness.
• Promote inclusive, welcoming culture.
• Act as ambassador for home in the local community.
