Job summary

Avon Search is actively recruiting a Registered Home Manager for a welcoming 20-bed residential care home in Ringwood. You will lead the team, ensure excellent, person-centred care, and maintain full regulatory compliance.

The role requires prior experience managing or deputy managing an older‑people care home, a strong CQC understanding, and a Level 5 leadership qualification (or willingness to pursue).

Qualifications

The Role

As Registered Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the home, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, leadership and resident wellbeing are consistently maintained.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and management of the home.
• Providing strong, visible leadership to the care and wider home team.
• Ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered in line with residents' individual needs, preferences and wishes.
• Maintaining full compliance with CQC regulations, legislation, policies and best practice.
• Leading on quality assurance, audits and continuous improvement across the home.
• Monitoring care plans, risk assessments, medication processes and care documentation.
• Ensuring appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed and residents' dignity, safety and wellbeing remain a priority.
• Recruiting, supervising, supporting and developing staff to create a motivated and effective team.
• Managing staff performance, training and development.
• Maintaining strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and other external stakeholders.
• Managing occupancy, referrals and admissions where required.
• Supporting effective budget management and ensuring resources are used appropriately.
• Responding proactively to feedback, complaints and concerns.
• Preparing for and managing inspections, ensuring the home is consistently inspection-ready.
• Promoting a positive, inclusive and welcoming culture throughout the home.
• Ensuring the home provides a safe, comfortable and homely environment for residents and staff.
• Acting as an ambassador for the home and its values within the local community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience managing or deputy managing a residential care home for older people.
