Job summary

5 Star Recruitment is seeking a Care Assistant (Residential) to support elderly clients in a residential setting. You will assist with daily living tasks, support independence, and help maintain a warm, safe environment.

The role involves teamwork with care staff, attending training, and complying with health and safety standards. Weekend and bank holiday work may be required, with day hours between 08:00 and 22:00.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds in practical or home nursing.
• NVQ Level 2 in Direct Care or commitment to achieve.
• In-service course in Social Care.
• Preliminary course in Social Care.
• Experience caring for elderly persons in a residential setting.
• Ability to promote recreational activities and work in a team.
• Knowledge of First Aid and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with washing, dressing, bathing and feeding clients.
• Help clients maintain contact with family and community.
• Escort clients to appointments and outings as required.
• Assist with laundry, bedding and tidying items.
• Support with administration of medication where appropriate.
• Participate in training and supervision as agreed with staff.
