Job summary

Templer HomeBuild is seeking a Building Surveyor to join the Building Safety and Technical team in Newton Abbot. You will carry out technical surveys, diagnose defects and manage works through to completion.

The role requires Level 5 Building Surveying qualification or equivalent, with a path to Level 6 and MRICS through APC. You will work with colleagues, contractors and residents to ensure compliance and safe, well-maintained homes.

Qualifications

• Qualified Building Surveyor with residential housing experience.
• Willingness to work towards MRICS via APC.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out property surveys, inspections and risk assessments.
• Diagnose damp, mould and structural defects.
• Prepare reports, specifications and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and Housing Standards.
• Manage projects from start to finish including budgets.
• Provide technical advice during delivery.
