Job summary

Templer HomeBuild in Newton Abbot is seeking a Building Surveyor to support our Building Safety and Technical team. You will conduct technical surveys, diagnose defects and develop specifications for planned investment and larger projects.

You'll work with residents, contractors and colleagues, aiming to keep homes safe and compliant. A Level 5 Building Surveying qualification or equivalent is required, with a clear path to Level 6 and Chartered Membership.

Qualifications

• Building surveying experience, ideally in residential housing and capital projects.
• Level 5 Building Surveying qualification or equivalent, with willingness to progress.
• Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction, defects and compliance.
• Experience managing contractors and project delivery.
• Ability to prepare specifications, reports and technical documents.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical surveying expertise to planned investment and larger projects workstreams.
• Carry out technical surveys and diagnose building defects.
• Prepare specifications, reports and technical documents.
• Manage works through to completion with contractors.
• Collaborate with colleagues, contractors and residents.
