Job summary

Ignite Talent Group is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a Leeds-based housebuilder delivering residential developments across West Yorkshire. The role is office-based from the Leeds office with regular site visits across the region.

You will support the commercial team with day-to-day management, assist with procurement, budgets, cost reports and valuations, and help ensure projects remain on time and within cost.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role within housebuilding or residential developments.
• Solid understanding of subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and cost control.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the Quantity Surveyor and Commercial team with day-to-day management of residential developments.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, tendering and preparation of subcontract packages.
• Prepare and review budgets, valuations, cost reports, forecasts and monthly commercial reporting.
• Monitor costs and expenditures, identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Assist with measurement and valuation of works on site and cost/value reconciliations.
• Support subcontractor payments, variations, queries and final accounts.
• Review drawings/specifications to support accurate cost management.
• Collaborate with Site Management, Technical, Land and Commercial teams to keep projects commercially controlled.
• Build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve commercial queries and identify cost-effective solutions.
