Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established regional contractor on major residential schemes in York. The role is office and site based with hybrid working after probation, offering stability and clear progression.

You will assist with valuations, cost control and subcontractor packages, working closely with Site and Contracts teams. A driving licence and housing/background in main contractor work are preferred.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

York, site-based

£35,000 - £45,000 + Car Allowance + Progression + Training + Hybrid After Probation + Benefits

Are you an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Junior QS looking to step up on major residential projects, with clear room to progress in a close-knit team? Do you want long-term stability, working for a well-established contractor with years of secured work ahead?

On offer is a permanent role where you will support the commercial team across live housing and care-home schemes, splitting your time between office and site. After probation, the role moves to a hybrid pattern giving you structure and flexibility.

This is a long-established regional contractor with multiple divisions and an excellent pipeline of frameworks and projects. With major schemes already on site (including a £10m residential development and a large care home project), they are growing their commercial team to meet continued demand.

In the role you will assist with valuations, cost control, subcontractor packages, and day-to-day commercial support on site, working closely with the Site and Contracts teams.

This role would suit a Junior / Assistant Quantity Surveyor with some site experience, ideally from a main contractor / housing background, looking for long-term development, bigger-project exposure and genuine progression.

The Role:

• Assistant Quantity Surveyor supporting residential projects (office and site based)

The Person:
