Job summary

Islington Council's Access Islington apprenticeship offers an 18-month role delivering daily face-to-face and telephone support to residents, recording applications and decisions on council systems, and contributing to data collection. Apprentices study for a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification during dedicated working time, with a buddy or mentor.

Entry is limited to Islington residents, care leavers or school leavers from the last 12 months, and starts January 2027.

Qualifications

• No existing qualification at a similar level or above in customer service.
• Able to study for Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner qualification.
• Right to work in the UK and Islington residency eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident enquiries by phone and in person.
• Record resident applications, actions and decisions on IT systems.
• Assist with data collection.
• Use Word, Excel and internal systems as needed.
• Study for Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship qualification.
