Job summary

Oakland Care in Hastings is seeking an energetic Lifestyles Assistant to plan and deliver a vibrant programme of activities for residents, including games, crafts, music sessions and outings. You’ll support group and one‑to‑one activities, and work closely with the Lifestyles Manager to promote wellbeing and meaningful daily life. This role requires creativity, warmth and reliable organisational skills.

Part-time, 17 hours per week, Permanent contract. Hours: Mon-Fri 9:30am-5pm.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people in a person-centred way.
• Willingness to learn and work towards an S/NVQ qualification if not already achieved.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and support people from diverse backgrounds.
• Confidence with practical day-to-day tasks involved in activity delivery.

Responsibilities

• Supporting residents to live life to the fullest.
• Encouraging and empowering residents to take part in meaningful activities.
• Assisting residents with their individual lifestyle choices.
• Understanding residents’ personal needs, interests, and preferences.
• Planning, arranging, and facilitating a diverse range of activities.
• Accompanying residents on weekly trips and outings.
• Leading group and one-to-one activities.
• Helping create new activity ideas and activity packs.
• Setting up for events, talks, and social gatherings.
