Job summary

Oakland Care in Hastings is seeking a lively Lifestyles Assistant to create engaging activities for residents, from crafts and music to outings. You will plan and deliver a vibrant programme, supporting the Lifestyles Manager and encouraging participation with warmth and creativity.

Ideal candidates have experience helping vulnerable individuals, enjoy music, and can run group and one-to-one sessions. Strong organisation and IT basics help build strong relationships with residents.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals.
• Background in designing or delivering activity programmes.
• Love for music and plenty of creativity.
• Confidence to run both group and 1-2-1 sessions.

Responsibilities

• Supporting residents to live life to the fullest.
• Encouraging and empowering residents to take part in meaningful activities.
• Assisting residents with their individual lifestyle choices.
• Understanding residents’ personal needs, interests, and preferences.
• Planning, arranging, and facilitating a diverse range of activities.
• Accompanying residents on weekly trips and outings.
• Leading group and one‑to‑one activities.
• Helping create new activity ideas and activity packs.
• Setting up for events, talks, and social gatherings.
