Job summary

Swisslog is seeking a Resident Site Engineer for our Derby site. You will perform breakdown and preventative maintenance on automated machinery, including cranes, conveyors, and monorail systems in a cold environment (-20°C).

The role operates on a rotating 12-hour day/night pattern and requires effective communication with customers at all levels. Training will be provided for those with limited experience with automated equipment; an apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer is preferred.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with automated machinery is ideal, however training will be provided.
• Happy to work at heights.
• This is a customer facing role, so you must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown and planned preventative maintenance on automated machinery, including cranes, conveyors, monorail systems and deep freeze high bay.
• Work in a cold environment (-20 degrees).
• Undertake scheduled repairs per manufacturers recommendations and industry standards.
• Prioritise system faults and ensure quality of output at all times.
• Accurately record all work undertaken and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.

The Role – Resident Maintenance Engineer

• Breakdown and planned preventative maintenance on a variety of automated machinery, to include cranes; conveyors; monorail system and a deep freeze high bay.
• Working in a cold environment (-20 degrees)
• To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices.
• Prioritise system faults.
• To ensure quality of output at all times.
• To accurately record all work undertaken.
• Involvement in continuous improvement projects.
• Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.

What you need to succeed

An apprentice trained Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification.

Experience of working with automated machinery is ideal, however it is not essential as training will be provided.

Happy to work at heights.

This is a customer facing role, so you must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

Experience of working with a CMMS system.
