Job summary

Swisslog is seeking a Resident Site Engineer for our Derby operation. You will work rotating 12-hour days and nights on automated machinery including cranes, conveyors, and a deep freeze high bay in a controlled environment at -20°C.

The role requires an apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer or equivalent, with CMMS experience preferred. You will communicate effectively at all levels, perform maintenance, and log all work while contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with automated machinery is ideal, training will be provided.
• Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Experience with CMMS system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown and planned preventative maintenance on automated machinery including cranes, conveyors, monorail, and deep freeze high bay.
• Work in a cold environment (-20 degrees).
• Undertake scheduled repairs following manufacturers' recommendations and industry best practices.
• Prioritise system faults and ensure output quality at all times.
• Accurately record all work undertaken and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
• Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown and planned preventative maintenance on a variety of automated machinery, to include cranes; conveyors; monorail system and a deep freeze high bay.
• Working in a cold environment (-20 degrees)
• To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices.
• Prioritise system faults.
• To ensure quality of output at all times.
• To accurately record all work undertaken.
• Involvement in continuous improvement projects.
• Comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.

Application Requirements

What you need to succeed An apprentice trained Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification. Experience of working with automated machinery is ideal, however it is not essential as training will be provided. Happy to work at heights. This is a customer facing role, so you must be able to communicate effectively at all levels. Experience of working with a CMMS system.
