Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council in Oldbury is recruiting a Resident Engagement Officer to join the Asset Management and Improvement Team. You will work with tenants, leaseholders, residents and community groups to ensure their voices influence decisions and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering services to tenants, leaseholders, residents, community groups and local organisations.
• Experience engaging residents and promoting tenant involvement through community development approaches.
• Experience collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders including community organisations and partner agencies.
• Knowledge of community development principles and resident engagement practices.
• Understanding housing management, building safety, compliance or asset management issues affecting residents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Strong organisational skills to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
• Experience organising engagement events and consultations.
• Proficient in presenting information via reports, presentations and digital channels.
• Experience using social media and digital engagement tools to raise participation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver resident engagement and consultation activities to encourage participation.
• Build and maintain relationships with tenants, leaseholders, residents, community groups and partner agencies.
• Promote awareness of building safety, compliance and asset management programmes.
• Support residents to influence service improvements through engagement opportunities.
• Organise and facilitate meetings, events, workshops and community initiatives.
• Gather, analyse and present resident feedback to support service development.
• Develop communications using digital platforms, newsletters and social media.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to improve outcomes.
• Maintain records and produce reports on engagement activity and outcomes.
