Job summary

Environment Agency seeks an experienced leader to head the Reservoir Regulation team, driving regulation across England to ensure public safety under the Reservoirs Act. You will guide a national team through change, collaborating with external stakeholders and senior leaders to deliver high standards and innovative solutions.

The role requires strategic leadership, governance of risk, and a commitment to inclusive, high‑performing culture.

Qualifications

Significant experience in Regulation, Civil Engineering, Law or similar and relevant subject to Reservoir Regulation.
Strategic leadership: translating strategy into high‑quality delivery.
Proven track record of driving high performance and fostering psychological safety.

Responsibilities

Lead proactive stakeholder management and build trust across England.
Set strategic priorities aligned to the Reservoir Regulation programme and oversee delivery.
Embed a culture of continuous improvement to meet changing needs and deliver outcomes.
Drive a culture of psychological safety enabling confident decision making and innovation.
Manage complex, multi‑agency risks to uphold public safety.
Provide senior user input for Reservoir Safety Reform Programme.
