You will work mainly at Hadley Group HQ in Smethwick with time at the University of Sheffield ICAIR, collaborating closely with engineers, researchers and software teams to translate

Qualifications

• Experience in full-scale structural testing.
• Experience in nonlinear finite element modelling.
• Experience with AI-informed surrogate modelling.
• Knowledge of manufacturing-aware optimisation would be beneficial.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop experimental methodologies and undertake full-scale structural testing of steel sections and systems.
• Develop, calibrate and validate nonlinear finite element models (ABAQUS) with realistic loading conditions.
• Apply AI-informed surrogate modelling to predict structural performance.
• Develop manufacturing-aware optimisation methods for efficient cold-formed steel profiles and validate them experimentally.
• Translate findings into practical engineering guidance, software workflows and tools for Hadley Group.
