Job summary

Skilled Careers seeks an experienced Repairs Scheduling Manager in Stevenage to lead a high-volume repairs planning function within a busy social housing setting. You will oversee a team of about 60, including 5-6 Team Leaders and wider planners, driving performance, scheduling efficiency and a customer-focused repairs journey.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in repairs scheduling or planning, preferably in social housing.
• Proven ability to manage resource planning and scheduling teams.
• Strong leadership to drive results through Team Leaders and wider teams.
• Experience with dynamic scheduling systems to support a responsive repairs service.
• Track record of improving operational performance against KPIs and targets.
• Excellent coaching, people management and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large Repairs Planning and Scheduling team with consistent processes across regions.
• Support Team Leaders to drive performance and develop their teams.
• Oversee scheduling of responsive repairs ensuring skilled operatives are allocated.
• Drive improvements in resource planning and scheduling efficiency.
• Ensure clear, timely communication from booking through to completion.
• Collaborate with Contact Centre, digital booking, out-of-hours providers and field operations.
• Build strong relationships with Regional/Area Managers to optimise resources and meet targets.
• Monitor KPIs and identify improvements, implementing effective solutions.
• Lead coaching, performance management and capability development across the planning function.
• Identify operational challenges and deliver sustainable service improvements.
• Contribute to an improved repairs booking experience through change initiatives.
