Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd. is seeking an experienced Repairs Planner to join a busy Croydon-based Property Services team. You will plan and coordinate repairs, allocate jobs by priority, and work closely with residents, operatives and contractors to keep schedules on track.

The role is office-based, temporary-to-permanent, with an immediate start for the right candidate and a pay rate of £17.00 per hour. Experience in social housing and strong organisational skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience as Repairs Planner, Scheduler or similar role.
• Experience in social housing or property maintenance desirable.
• Strong organisational and data-entry skills with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule repairs and maintenance appointments for operatives and contractors.
• Allocate jobs based on priority, location, skill set and availability.
• Manage and update the repairs system with accurate job and appointment information.
• Liaise with residents to arrange and confirm repair appointments.
• Communicate with operatives and contractors to ensure progress as planned.
• Monitor outstanding and overdue repairs and take appropriate action.
• Reschedule appointments where required and minimise missed appointments.
• Ensure emergency, urgent and routine repairs are prioritised appropriately.
• Deal with queries from residents, operatives and internal departments.
• Maintain accurate records and provide updates on outstanding works.
• Support the wider repairs and property services team with general administration.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with relevant policies and service standards.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Repairs Planner to join a busy Property Services team based in Croydon.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating repairs and maintenance appointments, ensuring jobs are allocated efficiently and completed within the required timescales. You will work closely with residents, operatives, contractors and internal teams to provide a smooth and efficient repairs service.

This is an office-based temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering the chance to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Repairs Planner, Scheduler, Repairs Coordinator or similar role.

• Experience within social housing, housing repairs or property maintenance is highly desirable.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise competing demands.

• Good attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.

• Experience using repairs management systems is desirable.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.

• A proactive approach with the confidence to chase and resolve outstanding issues.
