Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is recruiting a Repairs Planner for a well-established Housing Association in Birmingham. You will plan and coordinate responsive repairs, schedule operatives and liaise with residents to keep customers informed, delivering a reliable, customer‑focused service.

This rolling contract role is based in Birmingham, with 35 hours per week and £20 per hour. You will work with the Property Services team to optimise repairs, meet SLAs and extend the contract where possible.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in planning, scheduling or repairs coordination.
  • Experience in social housing, property services, repairs or maintenance.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • Strong communication and IT skills for liaising with customers and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule responsive repairs and maintenance for operatives and contractors.
  • Manage engineers' diaries to maximise productivity and minimise travel.
  • Liaise with customers to arrange and amend repair appointments.
  • Monitor repairs to meet SLAs and deadlines.
  • Respond to emergency repairs and adjust schedules.
  • Update internal systems with accurate job data.
  • Collaborate with Property Services teams for efficient service.

Job description

Join a well-established Housing Association in a rewarding role where you'll play a vital part in keeping homes safe, maintained, and customers informed. This Repairs Planner position offers the opportunity to join a busy Property Services team on a rolling contract, providing consistent and stable work.

You'll be responsible for planning and coordinating responsive repairs, ensuring operatives are scheduled efficiently while delivering an excellent customer experience. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and residents, you'll help ensure repairs are completed on time, resources are utilised effectively, and service standards are consistently achieved.

We'd love to hear from anyone with a background as a Repairs Planner, Planner, Scheduler, Resource Planner, Works Coordinator, Maintenance Planner, Service Coordinator, or anyone with experience within social housing, property maintenance, repairs, customer service, or scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling responsive repairs and maintenance appointments for operatives and contractors
  • Managing engineers' diaries to maximise productivity and minimise travel time
  • Liaising with customers to arrange, confirm and amend repair appointments
  • Monitoring outstanding repairs and ensuring work is completed within agreed service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Responding to emergency repairs and adjusting schedules to meet changing priorities
  • Updating internal systems with accurate job and appointment information
  • Working closely with Property Services teams to ensure an efficient and customer‑focused repairs service
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a planning, scheduling or repairs coordination role
  • Experience within social housing, property services, repairs, maintenance or a similar customer‑focused environment
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with customers, operatives and contractors
  • Good IT skills and experience using scheduling or housing management systems
Key Requirements
  • Previous experience within a planning or scheduling position
  • Experience coordinating repairs or maintenance work is highly desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
