Job summary

BDS (Northern) Limited in London is seeking repairs officers to join a leading social housing provider. The role is based at the Kings Cross head office and runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

This temporary ongoing contract focuses on delivering day-to-day responsive repairs, overseeing progress in the system, updating residents, and ensuring high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will be highly organised with repairs customer service experience and strong IT skills.

Qualifications

• Organised with ability to manage conflicting priorities.
• Experience in repairs customer service environment.
• Experience in monitoring performance against targets.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong IT skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective support functions in the delivery of day to day, responsive repairs for the operational businesses.
• Oversee and progress all repairs within the system to ensure timely completion and high standards.
• Provide updates, estimated attendance and completion times, and address customer enquiries and concerns, ensuring all interactions are recorded in the system.
• Ensure completed works are reviewed against initial specification before payment.
• Assist in the processing of invoices for payment.
• Follow up with residents to ensure satisfaction with completed repairs and outcomes.
• Interact with customers and colleagues to understand repair needs and embed this into service delivery.
• Provide a review and rating for all completed jobs and escalate contractor performance concerns to managers.
• Provide relevant telephone support as needed, liaising with contractors and third party providers as appropriate.
• Support regional teams to manage a reliable, trusted repairs service.
