Job summary

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Repairs Assistant for a busy housing association on a 2-month temporary contract in Scotland. You will be the first point of contact for tenants, log repairs, and coordinate with contractors and tenants to schedule and monitor work.

The role requires prior repairs assistant experience, social housing exposure, excellent communication, and IT proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Experience as a repairs assistant or similar role within housing, property, repairs, maintenance or construction.
• Strong communication and organisational skills essential for coordinating with tenants and contractors.
• Proficient IT skills, including MS Office, with ability to log and process repair requests.

Responsibilities

• Act as a first point of contact for tenants reporting repairs and maintenance issues.
• Log and process repair requests accurately within the housing management system.
• Liaise with contractors, operatives, and tenants to schedule appointments and monitor progress.
• Provide updates to tenants regarding outstanding repairs and maintenance work.
• Raise works orders and ensure all records are maintained accurately.
• Monitor contractor performance and assist with the repair team.
• Support the wider housing team as required.

We are currently recruiting for a Repairs Assistant to join a busy Housing Association on an initial 2-month temporary contract.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous maintenance/repairs assistant experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and supporting the delivery of responsive repair services.

Your new role

• Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
• A professional and customer-focused approach.
