Job summary

The Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader to oversee a busy property and maintenance environment in Oxford.

You will lead trade operatives, ensure high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service, and coordinate responsive repairs across roofing, plastering, brickwork and more. This is a hands-on role requiring strong building knowledge and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in repairs/building services.
• Strong knowledge of building repairs and maintenance.
• Experience coaching or mentoring trade teams.
• SMSTS certification preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of trade operatives with guidance and technical advice.
• Monitor quality, safety and timely completion of responsive repairs.
• Carry out site visits and inspections to ensure workmanship and compliance.
• Manage workloads and resources, especially during peak seasons.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure IT systems are up to date.
• Participate in an out-of-hours emergency standby rota.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader to join a busy property and maintenance environment, leading a team responsible for the delivery of high-quality responsive repairs.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will provide direction and technical support to operatives, resolve complex issues, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and make sure customers receive a high level of service

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery and quality of responsive repairs across a range of building trades, including:

• Roofing and tiling
• Plastering and decorating
• Brickwork and groundwork

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting a team of trade operatives, providing guidance, coaching and technical advice.
• Monitoring the quality, safety and timely completion of responsive repairs.
• Carrying out site visits and inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance.
• Managing workloads and resources effectively, particularly during seasonal and weather-related peaks.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring relevant IT systems are kept up to date.
• Participating in an out-of-hours emergency standby rota.

The ideal applicant will have:

• Proven experience in a similar repairs, maintenance or building services leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of building repairs and maintenance.
• Experience managing, coaching or mentoring trade teams.
• A strong understanding of health & safety within building and construction, ideally with SMSTS.
• A full UK driving licence.
