Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is recruiting for a two-year fixed-term role within the Housing Solutions team in Middlesbrough. The post focuses on implementing the Renters Rights Act 2025 and preventing homelessness through creative, collaborative approaches with landlords and partner services.

You will work to support applicants, undertake assessments, and promote changes in our neighbourhoods while benefiting from flexible/blended working arrangements and a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in close partnership with Environmental Health and Public Protection on Renters Right Act aspects.
• Carry out homelessness assessments under Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 to prevent homelessness.
• Be creative and innovative in supporting people at risk of homelessness.
• Liaise with landlords to enquire about evictions where necessary.
• Work with Housing Solutions team to prevent and relieve homelessness.
• Record information accurately and timely; communicate with colleagues, applicants and stakeholders.
