Job summary

Arnold Clark in Glasgow is seeking a dedicated Driver/Valeter to join our Rental department. You will ensure vehicles are presented to the highest standard, both inside and out, supporting the branch with prompt vehicle readiness at the South Street Car & Van Rental site.

This full-time role suits someone who enjoys a physical, team-based environment and takes pride in attention to detail. Training is provided, including participation in our Valet Academy to develop necessary skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• High level of attention to detail is required.
• Ability to work as part of a team and multi-task effectively.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer.
• Vacuum interiors and shampoo upholstery.
• Polish and buff bodywork as needed.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain and secure equipment, report defects and follow PPE guidance.
• Meet daily timeframes and keep a record of work.
• Support the branch with other duties as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join the Rental department in our South Street Car & Van Rental in Glasgow.

Hours

Full time: 42.5 hours per week, five days out of seven and alternate weekends

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Completing a daily record of work
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
