Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Glasgow is seeking a Driver/Valeter to ensure all vehicles are presented to the highest standard. The role suits someone who enjoys a physical, active position and works well in a team. Training is provided with opportunities to attend the Arnold Clark Valet Academy.

Key duties include cleaning vehicles inside and out, using pressure washers, and polishing bodywork while adhering to safety procedures. A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer.
• Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors.
• Polish/buff bodywork using appropriate equipment.
• Follow health and safety procedures around chemicals.
• Maintain and secure equipment, report defects per PPE guidance.
• Work to set timeframes and targets.
• Complete a daily record of work performed.
• Support the branch with other duties as required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join our Volvo branch in Glasgow.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Friday 8am - 5.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
