Job summary

Arnold Clark is seeking a Driver/Valeter for our Edinbirgh Seafield branch within the Rental department. You will ensure vehicles are presented in top condition and will be an active, hands-on team player.

The role suits someone who enjoys physical work, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach. Typical duties include cleaning vehicles to a high standard, using pressure washers and vacuums, buffing, and delivering cars to customers and other branches.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required or equivalent.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to multitask across duties.
• Willingness to participate in training programmes.
• Valet experience preferred; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Wash and vacuum vehicles using a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Polish/buff bodywork with appropriate machines.
• Drive to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Follow health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain and report defects; follow PPE guidance.
• Work to set timeframes and targets.
• Complete a daily record of work.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join the Rental department in our Edinbirgh Seafield Car and Van Rental branch.

Hours

Full time: 45 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 and alternative weekends.

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Cleaning vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Driving to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals.
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure,, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations.
• Working to set timeframes and targets.
• Completing a daily record of work.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence

• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team

• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
