Job summary

Arnold Clark in Carlisle is looking for an enthusiastic Driver/Valeter to join the Rental department. You will ensure all vehicles are presented to the highest standard and contribute to a smooth, efficient operation in a busy branch.

This role suits someone who enjoys a physical, hands-on role, pays close attention to detail, and works well within a team. Valet experience is preferred, but full training is provided through Arnold Clark's Valet Academy.

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK driving licence.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to multi-task and participate in training programmes.
• Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided via the Valet Academy.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Polish/buff bodywork to enhance appearance.
• Drive to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Comply with health and safety procedures when handling chemicals.
• Maintain and secure all equipment, reporting defects and following PPE guidelines.
• Work to set timeframes and targets; complete a daily work record.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Driver/Valeter to join the Rental department in our Carlisle branch.

Hours

Full time: 45 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 and alternative weekends.

About The Role

As an Arnold Clark Driver/Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in the best possible condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has excellent attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Cleaning vehicles with a high-powered pressure washer and vacuum.
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Driving to collect and deliver vehicles to customers and branches.
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals.
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations.
• Working to set timeframes and targets.
• Completing a daily record of work.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• High level of attention to detail
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team
• The ability to multi-task
• Willingness to participate in training programmes

Valet experience is preferred, but training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
