Job summary

Travel Employment Group is recruiting for a proactive Rental Controller in the Corby area. You will manage a large rental fleet across the East Midlands, handling enquiries, quotations, orders and extensions while ensuring top service levels.

You will liaise with customers, drivers, engineers and internal teams to maximise fleet utilisation and deliver seamless service. Immediate start welcomed; permanent role with benefits including pension and health cover.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communicator with a friendly, confident telephone manner.
• Experience in hire controller, service controller or fleet coordinator positions is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day coordination of a large rental fleet across the East Midlands.
• Process customer enquiries, quotations, orders, extensions and off-hires.
• Ensure fleet utilisation is maximised while maintaining high service levels.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries, collections and exchanges to meet deadlines.
• Build strong relationships with customers and understand operational needs.
• Work with Service, Transport, Workshop and Sales teams to ensure seamless delivery.
• Monitor fleet availability and plan equipment allocation.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally to maintain satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate rental records, contracts and system updates.
• Identify opportunities to increase rental revenue and customer retention.

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Rental Controller to take responsibility for managing our rental fleet across the East Midlands. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent organisational skills, strong commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

As Rental Controller, you will be the central point of contact for customers, drivers, engineers, and internal teams, ensuring equipment is deployed efficiently, customer requirements are met, and fleet utilisation is maximised.

Key Responsibilities

We would expect the successful Rental Controller to be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, be an excellent communicator and have a friendly confident telephone manner. You will be supported 1 to 1 to become familiar with the company processes and procedures. This would be an ideal role for you if you have worked within hire controller, service controller or fleet coordinator position.
