Job summary

Dudley Council is recruiting a Rent Accounting Officer to administer service charges, calculate payments, refunds and respond to tenants’ enquiries. The role involves Direct Debit front-line work and maintaining the rents system for thousands of council tenants.

You will need GCSEs including Maths and be computer literate with a customer-focused approach to ensure high-quality service. Informal discussions are welcome.

Qualifications

• GCSE level or equivalent in 5 subjects including Maths (grade C or above).
• Experience in a financial, administrative or accountancy role.
• Computer literate and customer focused.

Responsibilities

• Front line Direct Debit service; handle tenant enquiries and complaints.
• Process rent transactions and adjustments; calculate payments and arrears plans.
• Reconcile income streams and provide performance/statistical information.
