Job summary

Saltire Facilities Management is seeking a Renewables Lead Engineer to cover the SouthWest. You will service, maintain, repair, and fault-find gas appliances and ASHP systems across social housing and private properties, ensuring safety, warmth, and compliance.

You’ll lead renewables work, support the wider team, and maintain high standards, while completing paperwork and adhering to safety procedures. A full clean UK driving license is required.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe and ACS qualifications are essential.
• Experience with gas appliances and air source heat pumps (ASHP) in renewables is required.
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical knowledge are needed.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and ASHP systems.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out installation, commissioning, and maintenance on renewable heating systems.
• Providing technical support to other engineers and staff.
• Building relationships with tenants, clients, and colleagues.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced and highly skilled Renewables Lead Engineer to join our growing team, covering the SouthWest area. If you have strong experience across both gas and air source heat pumps (ASHP), take pride in high-quality work, and enjoy supporting customers and colleagues, this could be the role for you. You'll be carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding across heating and renewable systems within social housing and private properties, helping to ensure homes are safe, warm, efficient, and compliant. As a Lead Engineer, you'll also play an important role in supporting the wider engineering team and helping to drive high standards across our renewables work.

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and ASHP systems
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and safely
• Carrying out installation, commissioning, and maintenance work on renewable heating systems
• Providing technical support and guidance to other engineers where required
• Building strong, professional relationships with tenants, clients, and colleagues
• Completing all job paperwork accurately and on time
• Attending Toolbox Talks and keeping up to date with safety procedures
• Maintaining high standards for appearance, uniform, and van presentation
• Carrying out weekly vehicle and equipment checks
• Participating in standby and on-call cover when required
• Always working in line with Gas Safe regulations, company procedures, and H&S standards
• Supporting the continued development and delivery of our renewable heating services Proven experience as a Gas Engineer with strong renewable heating experience
• All relevant ASHP and Gas qualifications - essential
• ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 & CKR1
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical knowledge
• Experience working with air source heat pump systems
• Full, valid driving licence
• A professional, customer-focused approach
