Job summary

Saltire Facilities Management is seeking a skilled Gas Engineer to service and repair gas appliances in social housing across the Bath, Shepton Mallet, and Frome areas. You will work autonomously with strong support from an office team, ensuring homes are safe and compliant.

Training opportunities into renewables are available. The role includes on-call shifts, paperwork duties, and compliance with Gas Safe and health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Gas Engineer with social housing exposure.
• ACS qualifications CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 and CKR1 are required.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance, and repairs on boilers and fires in social housing properties.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs safely and efficiently.
• Complete all job paperwork accurately and on time.
• Attend Toolbox Talks and follow safety procedures.
• Carry out weekly vehicle and equipment checks.
• Participate in on-call cover when required.
• Work in line with Gas Safe Regulations and company procedures.

looking for a skilled and reliable Gas Engineer to join our growing team, covering the Bath, Shepton Malllet, or Frome area. You'll be carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on gas appliances within social housing properties, ensuring homes are safe, warm, and compliant. This is a hands‑on role with plenty of autonomy, supported by a well‑organised office team who've got your back. ASHP experience isn't essential, but training and upskilling opportunities are available for engineers keen to develop into renewables. What you'll be doing :

• Servicing and maintaining boilers and fires in social housing properties
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and safely
• Building strong, professional relationships with tenants, clients, and colleagues
• Completing all job paperwork accurately and on time
• Attending Toolbox Talks and keeping up to date with safety procedures
• Maintaining high standards for appearance, uniform, and van presentation
• Carrying out weekly vehicle and equipment checks
• Participating in on‑call cover when required
• Always working in line with Gas Safe regulations, company procedures, and H&S standards
• Proven experience as a Gas Engineer
• Fully qualified with proven exeperience working on Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
• ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 & CKR1
• Strong fault‑finding and mechanical knowledge
• Full, valid driving licence
• A professional, customer‑focused approach
• Unvented qualification ( desirable )
• LPG, Oil, and ASHP qualifications (desirable)
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player
