Job summary

Low Carbon Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Renewable Heating Engineer to service and repair domestic and small commercial heating systems, including ASHPs, HIUs, UVC, UFH and thermal stores. You will diagnose faults, perform routine maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and fault finding across renewable plumbing and heating systems.

Renewable Heating Engineer - ASHP, HIU, UVC, SHW

Low Carbon Recruitment are currently partnered with a long-established renewable energy specialist who have been operating for over 20 years across the South, London & the Midlands. With a strong team already in place, they support domestic social housing, commercial sites and public sector clients with modern low-carbon heating and hot water systems. They've built a reputation for safety, quality and reliable service, and due to continued growth, they're now looking for an experienced Renewable Heating Engineer to join their field operations team.

This role is ideal for a plumber & heating engineer who enjoys varied work, problem solving and being hands-on with modern renewable heating technologies. You'll be carrying out servicing, fault finding and repairs across Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs), Exhaust Air Heat Pumps (EAHPs), Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHPs), Unvented Cylinders (UVC), Thermal Stores (TS), Heat Interface Units (HIUs), Underfloor Heating (UFH), thermal stores and wider plumbing systems, ensuring installations run safely, efficiently and to compliance standards while delivering excellent customer service.

The work is purely on domestic properties with some commercial projects, but this is very limited for this role

You will be required to travel to the warehouse for van stock once every 2 weeks to begin with, the company is in the process of dealing with wholesalers so there will be drop off points to collect materials and load van stock so you won't have to travel into the ware house as often. A company van and fuel card are provided.

The Role

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of renewable plumbing and heating systems across residential and commercial properties. Day-to-day, that means:

• Plumbing & heating servicing - Planned maintenance, diagnostics and performance checks across ASHPs, HIUs, UVC, UFH and SHW
• Fault finding - Quickly identifying issues across mechanical, plumbing and renewable components
• System replacements - Swap-outs and upgrades of failed or obsolete heating and hot water equipment
• Technical reporting - Producing clear job notes, recommendations and follow-on work assessments
• Safety compliance - Working to G3, industry standards and internal H&S procedures
• Customer interaction - Communicating clearly with tenants, clients and site teams
• Associated tasks - Supporting ventilation checks (MVHR/MEV/PIV) where required

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 Plumbing & Heating (essential)
• G3 Unvented Hot Water certification (essential)
• Experience working on ASHP systems (preferred - training available)
• Strong diagnostic ability across plumbing and heating systems
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• High personal standards for safety, compliance and workmanship
• Full UK Driving Licence
• DBS or willingness to undergo one

Salary & Package

• £50,000-£55,000 depending on experience
• Monday - Friday - 8am - 5pm
• Performance bonus (capped & uncapped options)
