Job summary

Saltire Facilities Management Limited is seeking an experienced Renewables Lead Engineer to join our team, covering the SouthWest area. You'll service, maintain, and repair gas appliances and ASHP systems, diagnose faults, and carry out installations with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

This full-time, permanent role also involves supporting colleagues, attending toolbox talks, and upholding Gas Safe regulations while delivering high standards in our renewable heating services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Gas Engineer with renewable heating experience.
• ACS qualifications CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 & CKR1 are required.
• Full, valid driving licence and customer-focused approach.
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and ASHP systems.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out installation, commissioning, and maintenance on renewables.

Job description

Renewables Lead Engineer

£45,500-£47,000 + standby | Full-Time | Permanent

We're looking for an experienced and highly skilled Renewables Lead Engineer to join our growing team, covering the SouthWest area. If you have strong experience across both gas and air source heat pumps (ASHP), take pride in high-quality work, and enjoy supporting customers and colleagues, this could be the role for you.

You'll be carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding across heating and renewable systems within social housing and private properties, helping to ensure homes are safe, warm, efficient, and compliant. As a Lead Engineer, you'll also play an important role in supporting the wider engineering team and helping to drive high standards across our renewables work.

What you'll be doing

• Servicing, maintaining, and repairing gas appliances and ASHP systems
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and safely
• Carrying out installation, commissioning, and maintenance work on renewable heating systems
• Providing technical support and guidance to other engineers where required
• Building strong, professional relationships with tenants, clients, and colleagues
• Completing all job paperwork accurately and on time
• Attending Toolbox Talks and keeping up to date with safety procedures
• Maintaining high standards for appearance, uniform, and van presentation
• Carrying out weekly vehicle and equipment checks
• Participating in standby and on-call cover when required
• Always working in line with Gas Safe regulations, company procedures, and H&S standards
• Supporting the continued development and delivery of our renewable heating services

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Gas Engineer with strong renewable heating experience
• All relevant ASHP and Gas qualifications - essential
• ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 & CKR1
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical knowledge
• Experience working with air source heat pump systems
• Full, valid driving licence
• A professional, customer-focused approach
• Unvented qualification (desirable)
• LPG qualification (desirable)
• Oil qualification (desirable)
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player
• Confidence providing technical support and guidance to colleagues
