Job summary

Renewable Energy Service in the Midlands is seeking a fully qualified electrician to join as a Solar PV & Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Installer and Qualified Supervisor. You will install, commission and maintain solar PV and battery storage systems across domestic and commercial properties, working alongside our roofing team.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018, C&G 2382 or later including current amendments).
• Inspection and Testing qualification (C&G 2391 or equivalent).
• C&G 2922 Solar PV and C&G 2923 Electrical Energy Storage Systems qualification.
• Proven experience installing solar PV systems and battery storage.
• Previous experience in a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor role or readiness to step into the role.
• Understanding of MCS standards and accreditation requirements.
• Full UK driving licence.
• ECS Card.
• Experience with leading inverter and battery brands.
• Experience across both domestic and commercial-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain solar PV and battery storage systems.
• Act as Qualified Supervisor ensuring compliance with regulations and timely certification.
• Collaborate with roofing team on domestic and commercial sites.
• Travel to project sites across the UK as needed.

Renewable Energy Service was founded in 2026 with a simple goal: make renewable energy installations reliable, safe and built to last. We're a small team of electricians, roofers and project staff working on domestic and commercial sites. We're not a call centre with a van fleet - we're tradespeople first. Our leadership team has worked on the tools, which means decisions about schedules, kit and site safety are made by people who understand what a day on-site actually involves.

Role Description

Renewable Energy Service is looking for a fully qualified electrician to join our team as both a Solar PV & Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Installer and Qualified Supervisor (QS).

This is a dual-purpose role combining hands-on installation work with responsibility for maintaining our NICEIC and MCS accreditation standards.

You will install, commission, and maintain solar PV and battery storage systems across domestic and commercial properties, working alongside our roofing team.

Alongside installation duties, you will act as the company's Qualified Supervisor, ensuring all electrical work complies with current regulations and that certification is completed accurately and on time.

The role is primarily based in the Midlands with occasional travel to project sites across the UK.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent approved qualification).
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018, C&G 2382 or later including current amendments).
• Inspection and Testing qualification (C&G 2391 or equivalent).
• C&G 2922 Solar PV and C&G 2923 Electrical Energy Storage Systems qualification.
• Proven experience installing solar PV systems and battery storage.
• Previous experience in a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor role or readiness to step into the role.

• Competitive salary of £47,500 to £50,000 pa depending on experience.
