Job summary

Eco2Solar invites a Renewables Electrician to join their Manchester team, installing PV systems, EV chargers, and battery storage for new-build housing. You will travel daily with possible overnight stays and contribute to high-quality, compliant low-carbon electrical work.

Ideal candidates have 18th Edition BS7671, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or AM2), and a track record in solar installations. A CSCS/ECS card and 3-phase experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Experience in solar installations or domestic new builds.
  • 18th Edition electrical qualifications (BS7671).
  • N/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Building and Structures) OR apprenticeship with AM2.
  • Solar certification (BPEC or City & Guilds) Level 3 Award in PV Systems installations is helpful.
  • CSCS/ECS Card for site works is desirable.
  • Testing and Inspection 2391-52 is desirable.
  • Experience with 3 phase installations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Install PV systems including inverters and generation meters to high safety and quality standards.
  • Submit paperwork accurately and on time for each installation.
  • Ensure compliance with MCS, health, safety and quality standards.
  • Work on-site with daily travel and possible overnight stays as required.
  • Collaborate with team and manage workload to deliver excellent service.

Renewables Electrician (Manchester)

Location: Live with 45mins travel from Manchester

Salary: £40,000 FTE plus a generous bonus scheme and benefits

Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Eco2Solar are pleased to announce a new and exciting opportunity to join the UKs largest and most successful Solar PV installer (who were recently invested in by EON) as a Renewables Electrician, based in Manchester. We will help you to develop the skills to future proof your career by installing EV chargers, Solar PV systems, battery storage and innovative products for new build housing developers to meet carbon reduction targets.

About the role

The role of the Renewables Electrician offers the right candidate the opportunity to build, develop and grow their career with a highly reputable and growing company. Stay ahead of the latest technology and work with the UKs largest new build solar installer, working in partnership with Eon.

Working in a safe and controlled environment, installing renewable energy systems for new build housing developers, your mission will be to achieve the highest standard of quality, safety and customer service in low carbon electrical installations.

As a Renewables Electrician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of PV systems (inverters and generation meters), accurate and timely submission of paperwork, compliance with MCS and Health, Safety and Quality standards.

This is a site-based role requiring travel on a daily basis. There will be a requirement for overnight stays as and when required.

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential within this role. The role requires good technological skills and the ability to use Apps to complete certifications and reports.

Having the ability to work both as part of a team and also take overall responsibility for your personal workload, whilst delivering excellent levels of service is essential. A desire to put our clients’ needs first and a thirst to develop your own skills is a key part of fitting into this established team.

About you

Previous experience in solar installations and/or domestic new builds is required. It is important that you have:

  • 18th Edition electrical qualifications (BS7671)
  • N/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Building and Structures) OR a completed apprenticeship with AM2

It would be helpful but not essential if you have:

  • Solar certification (BPEC or City & Guilds) Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small-Scale PV Systems
  • CSCS/ECS Card for site works
  • Testing and Inspection 2391-52
  • Experience in 3 phase installations

The following are key performance indicators and expected time allocations for the Renewables Electrician role.

  • Solar PV 2nd fix installation – 45% of time, daily, achieve 15 installations per week.
  • Completion of electrical certification and forms – 25% of time, weekly, submit all paperwork on day of install.
  • Health and safety capacity – 20% of time, monthly, zero RIDDOR reportable accidents across working sites.
  • Successful audits – 10% of time, monthly, maintain compliance with regulations and standards.
