Job summary

Valoris Group Limited is seeking a Senior Solar PV Electrician to join its growing renewable energy team. The role involves installing Solar PV systems and battery storage on site, testing and commissioning, and mentoring junior engineers.

You will work on domestic and commercial projects, ensure safety and compliance, and contribute to project delivery with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction. A Level 3 electrical qualification and 18th Edition are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on Solar PV installation experience.
• Experience with battery storage systems beneficial.
• Strong electrical testing and fault-finding skills required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The Role

Valoris Group are working with a growing renewable energy business specialising in Solar PV and Battery Storage, who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Solar PV Electrician to join their expanding team.

This is a key position within the business, suited to an experienced electrician who has strong hands‑on Solar PV experience and is looking to take the next step in their career.

You will be responsible for carrying out high‑quality Solar PV and battery storage installations, electrical testing, commissioning and fault finding, while also supporting junior engineers and helping ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

With the continued growth of the business, there is genuine opportunity for the successful candidate to take on additional responsibility and progress within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and connection of Solar PV systems
• Installation and connection of Battery Energy Storage Systems
• Carrying out electrical testing, inspection and commissioning
• Fault finding and diagnostics on Solar PV and battery systems
• Working on domestic and commercial renewable energy projects
• Installing associated electrical equipment, containment and cabling
• Completing installation paperwork, test certificates and commissioning documentation
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with current regulations and industry standards
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues on site
• Working alongside other electricians, installers and project teams
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers
• Ensuring a high standard of workmanship across all installations
• Maintaining strong health and safety standards on site
• Communicating professionally with customers and the wider project team

About You

The successful candidate will be an experienced electrician with a strong background in Solar PV installation and electrical works.

You will ideally have:

• Level 3 Electrical qualification
• Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Proven Solar PV installation experience
• Experience with battery storage systems
• Strong electrical testing and fault‑finding skills
• Good understanding of renewable energy systems
• Experience working independently and as part of an installation team
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Professional and customer‑focused approach
• Ability to support and mentor junior members of the team

Desirable Qualifications

• 2391 Inspection & Testing
• Solar PV installation qualification
• Battery Storage qualification
• MCS experience
• Experience working with domestic and commercial Solar PV systems
• Experience with EV charging or other renewable technologies
