Job summary

Welsh Ambulance NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Triage and Assessment Paramedic for its Integrated Care unit. The role focuses on telephone triage, assessing callers and advising on suitable care using clinical guidelines. It is non-hands-on and remote, with autonomous decision-making and a rotating shift pattern including nights and weekends.

Entry is via HCPC paramedic registration or NMC nurse registration. A February 2027 start is proposed.

Qualifications

• Evidence of regular CPD/training as required by regulator.
• Post-registration frontline/parademic experience desired.
• Flexible approach to rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Carry out telephone triage assessments of patients.
• Advise appropriate interventions using clinical guidelines.
• Work with Trust policies and protocols.
• Make autonomous clinical decisions remotely.
• Collaborate with GPs, pharmacists and mental health practitioners.
