Placements24 is seeking a Remote Telecoms Network Engineer II to join its network operations team. This fully remote role focuses on configuring and maintaining telecom networks from a home office to ensure high availability.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering or related field, 4–6 years of telecom experience, and strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, with experience using SolarWinds and Nagios. Remote collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Telecommunications or related field
4–6 years of professional experience in telecommunications network engineering
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other routing and switching protocols
Experience with network monitoring tools SolarWinds and Nagios
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for network automation is a plus
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for remote work

Responsibilities

Configure, install, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, and firewalls, primarily remotely
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure uptime
Develop and implement network configuration standards and best practices
Respond to and resolve network incidents and problems in a timely manner
Participate in network design and planning activities for future infrastructure
Collaborate with other engineers and IT teams in a remote setting to support shared objectives
