Job summary

CodeFirstGirls is seeking a Tech Lead to drive the AWS Migration for client applications. Remote, UK with occasional travel to London or Manchester.

You will provide technical leadership across refactoring legacy apps, guiding design and ensuring architectural alignment within a broad programme. The role emphasizes collaboration with client teams and suppliers while leveraging Java frameworks and microservices.

Qualifications

• AWS migration leadership: proven delivery of application migrations to AWS.
• Experience working in complex, multi-supplier environments.
• Knowledge of integration design or overseeing integration components.
• Hands-on or familiar with Java frameworks and core libraries.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and related tooling.
• Experience in UK public sector cloud/digital transformation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct the technical design, development, and cloud migration of key applications.
• Oversee architectural decisions to ensure alignment with standards.
• Review artefacts, codebases, and documentation for quality.
• Guide refactoring of legacy debt into scalable cloud components.
• Collaborate with client teams and external suppliers across a large programme.
