Job summary

CPS Group (UK) Limited is recruiting experienced Software Technical Leads to join a growing team delivering secure, technically complex projects across the public sector. This role focuses on senior technical leadership, full-stack Java, and ownership of architectural decisions within an Agile environment.

The position offers primarily remote work with regional offices and biweekly London visits (fully expensed). Security clearance eligibility is required due to project nature.

Qualifications

• Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead with strong Full Stack and Java experience.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and provide technical direction.
• Experience delivering secure, complex projects in public sector environments.
• Eligibility for security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across software development projects.
• Support solution architecture, design and technology decisions
• Work with open-source technologies and libraries
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Deploy applications across AWS, Azure and private clouds
• Engage with customers to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions
• Mentor and lead engineering teams to deliver solutions
• Own technical challenges and drive delivery to completion
