Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a D&I Systems Operations Lead to direct the Systems Operations Team, ensure capacity and continuity of the server estate, and drive improvements across the IT infrastructure. The role emphasizes technical leadership, incident management, and collaboration with other IT leaders within the Trust.

Primarily remote work with some on-site duties; on-call systems rota forms part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate calibre professional with proven experience managing enterprise scale server infrastructures.
• Experience leading technical teams from inception to delivery of projects and new systems.
• Knowledge and experience of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
• MCSE or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Systems Operations Engineers and coordinate design, development, and maintenance of the systems infrastructure.
• Oversee problem, incident, and change management with SLA compliance.
• Ensure security patches, server upgrades, migrations, and backups are kept up to date.
• Support other D&I Section Managers with testing and maintenance of the IT estate.
