Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking an experienced D&I Systems Operations Lead to manage the Systems Operations team, ensuring capacity and functionality of the server estate, DR/BC planning, and complex issue resolution. The role combines remote work with on-site duties and a rotating on-call schedule to support 24/7 IT services.

Ideal candidates will have graduate-level IT experience, proven leadership of technical teams, and familiarity with ITIL, AD, servers, SQL and backup

Qualifications

Graduate calibre professional with proven experience managing enterprise-scale server infrastructures.
Experience in leading technical teams from inception to delivery of projects.
MCSE or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience.
Experience collaborating with NHS Trust IT groups.
Knowledge of ITIL standard and practices.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of Systems Operations Engineers to coordinate design, development, support and improvement of the IT infrastructure.
Ensure systems are maintained with latest security patches, upgrades, migrations, backups and AD policies; provide on-call cover.
Oversee problem, incident and change management processes and ensure SLAs are met.
Provide expert guidance and technical leadership to junior, senior and advanced engineers.
