Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom seeks a Bridge Engineer to join the Bridges and Civils team within the Transportation business. You will develop high-quality civil and structural designs for new constructions, renewals, maintenance and assessments to support key projects across the UK and Ireland.

You will collaborate with national and international design teams, apply analytical skills and engineering judgement to choose optimal solutions, and produce comprehensive design documentation

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Near Chartered/Chartered status with ICE or IStructE.
• Experience working with key clients (e.g. Transport Scotland, National Highways, Network Rail, local authorities, contractors).
• Good understanding of design standards (Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW, Network Rail).

Responsibilities

• Take pride in developing high-quality civil and structural designs for new constructions, renewals, maintenance, and assessments.
• Collaborate with national and international design teams to create positive, sustainable impacts on society and the environment.
• Use analytical skills to derive potential solutions and provide engineering judgement to select best options.
• Undertake technical work independently, producing high-quality design documentation (sketches, drawings, 3D BIM deliverables, analyses, calculations, reports, specifications).
• Provide guidance and support for junior staff.
• Support bids, tenders and winning work.
• Demonstrate sound interpersonal skills across multiple engineering disciplines.
