Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join the Bridges and Civils team in the UK. You will shape high-quality civil and structural designs for major projects, lead design documentation, and collaborate with global teams to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.

You will mentor junior staff, drive bid opportunities, and engage with clients and stakeholders across significant schemes in the UK and beyond. Hybrid working and flexible holidays supported.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered status (CEng/IEng) and ICE/IStructE membership.
• Experience with major clients and authorities (Transport Scotland, National Highways, Network Rail).
• Knowledge of Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW and Network Rail standards.
• Bridge design, maintenance and assessment experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality civil and structural designs for new constructions, renewals, maintenance and assessments.
• Lead design documentation including sketches, drawings, 3D BIM, analyses, calculations and specifications.
• Collaborate with national and international design teams to deliver sustainable outcomes.
• Mentor junior staff and develop team capability.
• Lead bids, manage client relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Engage stakeholders and ensure quality across multiple projects.
