Spotify is seeking a Staff Data Engineer for the Subscriptions User Understanding domain to shape the long-term data platform that powers analytics, experimentation, and subscriber insights across more than 200 million Premium users.

You will design scalable cloud-native data platforms, mentor engineers, and partner with product, engineering, data science, and analytics teams to deliver durable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale cloud-native data platforms.
• Strong SQL and Python programming skills for data processing and analytics.
• Experience with distributed data pipelines and data governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term data engineering strategy for the Subscriptions User Understanding domain.
• Design scalable batch and streaming data platforms powering analytics, experimentation, and ML.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Platform teams to translate business challenges into durable data solutions.
• Lead architectural decisions and establish best practices for data quality, governance, observability, and reliability.
