Job summary

Spotify is seeking a Staff Data Engineer for the Subscriptions User Understanding domain to shape the long-term data platform strategy and scale to one billion users. You will partner with product, engineering, data science, analytics and platform teams to craft durable data solutions.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and help build reliable, cost-efficient pipelines and platforms that enable analytics, experimentation, and ML at scale across Spotify’s global subscriber

Qualifications

Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale cloud-native data platforms.
Strong track record in creating durable, scalable data solutions across multiple squads.
Excellent communication and collaboration with product, engineering, data science, and leadership.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the long-term data engineering strategy for the Subscriptions User Understanding domain.
Design scalable batch and streaming data platforms for analytics, experimentation, and ML.
Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business challenges into robust data solutions.
Lead architectural decisions and establish data quality, governance, and observability practices across squads.
Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of thoughtful engineering and continuous improvement.
